Latest Project

The Bird City Historical Association, Inc. is gathering information about births, deaths, and marriages that occurred prior to County records. These events happened before the start of the County recordkeeping in 1911. They have been searching church and school records through past newpapers to develop a more accurate depiction of the early years of Bird City and the surrounding area. Settlers first founded Bird City in 1885, but less is known about those who preceded them.
