Dorthy L. Mast was a Bird City Historian. Her knowledge of our past was extensive. She wrote countless articles for the Bird City Times. From 1973 through 1979 she began a series called Echoes on the South Wind. After she helped complete the "Early Bird City" book she republished those articles. In 2002 and 2003 she wrote more articles titled Echoes on the South Wind. In 2011 she began a new series called Echoes Across the plains. 
In 2022 Bird City Historical Association compiled all of her articles and are now offering a self printed 35 page book honoring our past member and friend.
